This course will introduce students to techniques in digital compositing and film post production effects using industry standard digital compositing software.  This course is suited to both 3D animators and traditional filmmakers who are looking to take their projects to the next level. Students will be learning how to use industry standard software to produce high end compositing techniques.

Students who attend all sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion. On request, students may have their work assessed against National Units of Competency from the CUF07 Screen and Media Training Package.

Software Used:
Sydney Campus - Nuke: Nuke is a powerful compositing and effects application that is full-featured, fast and efficient. Shots from five of the seven shortlisted films for 'Best Visual Effects' at the Academy Awards were composited in Nuke: 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', 'The Dark Knight', 'Iron Man', 'Australia' and 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor'.

Canberra Campus - Combustion: Combustion is a professional compositing application designed to meet the needs of the world’s most demanding digital artists. It features powerful creative tools, an artist-friendly interface, efficient work flow, and integration with 3D animation software.

Pre-requisites: This course is intended for people with filmmaking, multimedia or animation experience.

Cost: $1595 (student concession available)
